Margaret is an adventurer and TV producer and the founder of Mozzie Films. She has been working in TV since 2001 and rowing oceans since 2007, both of which have taken her all over the world. Margaret is currently working for Vice’s new TV channel Viceland as well as developing travel programming and branded content for TV and online. She specializes in travel documentaries and has worked as a production manager and line producer on highly acclaimed factual programmes in both Australia and the UK for companies such as the BBC and SBS. She has also been working in the online space since 2008, most recently in a senior management role at the online action sports channel EpicTV. Margaret is on the executive committee of the UK Production Managers Association.
Outside of TV, Margaret has set up expeditions and adventures to some of the most remote corners of the globe and has led ocean rowing crews across the Atlantic Ocean and the Bass Strait. She holds multiple world records for ocean rowing, including first Australian woman to row an ocean. In 2016 her adventures will include completing repairs on her ocean rowing pairs boat and rowing it along the Intracoastal Waterways from South Carolina to Florida.
Margaret has backed The Next Challenge Expedition Grant for the past two years and this year she is backing a new category for the adventure best suited to being filmed. Shortlisted applicants for the 2016 grant can be found here and winners will be announced in the coming weeks.
