Margaret is a world record holding ocean rower with extensive expedition management experience. She has set up expeditions and adventures to numerous far flung corners of the globe, most of which were either very wet or very cold. She is an active member of the international adventure community and has spoken at the Explorers Club and Tales of Adventure and been Captain of the Association of Ocean Rowers. She has taken part in three ocean rowing expeditions is currently completing repairs on her ocean rowing boat ready for a long distance trip along the the Intracoastal Waterways of Florida. In late June 2016 she will be competing in leg 1 of Race 2 Alaska and then in summer 2017 she will spend a month rowing the down the Yukon River starting at the probably source, Atlin Lake. Both Race 2 Alaska and the Yukon River expedition will be done with Margaret’s long time rowing buddy Cath Allaway.
For the past two years Margaret has been one of the primary backers of the Next Challenge Grant, a bursary for small expeditions and adventures. This year her contribution will go to the person with the best expedition film proposal. Applications are open now so don’t miss out!
